Philippines Mission

2600 Baguio City

08 November 2000

Attention: Operating Committee
Brooks Avenue church of Christ
700 Brooks Avenue, Raleigh, N.C.,
U.S.A. 27606

Dear brethren,

Greetings to everyone in the name of the Lord Almighty!

Not all of the personnel who signed up tentatively for the health mission were able to the sudden compulsory convention of doctors held in Baguio. Only 4 physicians, dentists, and 8 nurses were able to make it. As usual, we did not have any problem with the evangelists and support workers.

We left Baguio at P.M. 10:00 in the evening of October 24 and arrived Tanza, Cavite at about 5:30 on the 25th. We freshened ourselves, took a hurried meal, had a meeting with all the group members and spoke to them briefly during the devotional and was soon enroute to our first clinic site. We served 447 patients that day. In the evening I went back to the site for a possible evangelistic campaign but decided to have a bible study instead.

We moved to another venue the next day, Oct.26th which was at the Soriano Sports Complex in Tanza, Cavite. Some 1,112 came to the free clinic and we had a lot of contacts for bible studies. On the third day, Oct 27th we moved to the Amaya Elementary School where we had the free clinic. Some 1,401 patients were cared during the final day! All in all 2,960 patients were served, with about 1,500 good prospects contacted for bible studies!

The M.O.S.E.S. (Mobile Outreach School of Evangelism and Shepherding) group stayed behind for follow-ups, along with some of the preachers and church workers in that area. We are positively anticipating of planting a new congregation in that township as two were baptized on the final night of our stay in Tanza, Cavite!

We are preparing for yet another health mission in Patakid, Urdaneta this 2nd Day of December. It will just be for a day as we run out of resources. I will be definitely in that mission along with my wife, and my daughter Lord willing! After the mission, I will resign as treasurer and move on as an auditor. I have served so long as treasurer so I am passing it on to another brother whom I can trust, but with the blessing of the organization.

I handled a bible study on the 8th of October and on the 9th met with the Executive Vice-president of M.A.R.C.H. and sent a large amount to our coordinator in Manila as deposit amount for our housing in Tanza, Cavite. On the 10th I had my final meeting with my seminary class and in the succeeding days met with the various officers of M.A.R.C.H. as we busied ourselves for the final launching of the health mission.

I handled a study on the 15th and on the 17th assisted in the facilitation of a bible study.

I also did a bible study on the 18th and 22nd. In the evening of Nov.22nd, I was one of the speakers of a parenting skill seminar just like we did on the 15th we received queries at the outset of the seminars. I joined the church forum on the 31st. and on Nov. 1st helped facilitate a bible study. On the 5th I handled a bible study, and was the morning and evening speaker also. After the evening gathering we went for a hospital visit with a group being also the chairman of the Visitations Committee.

We had our orientation at the seminary in the evening of November 6. I joined the church forum on the 7th, and met for the first time my class today! The semestral break is over! At least during the break, my family and I, were able to be part of the health mission which has been so successful considering the about 1,500 contacts and the 2 baptisms and the prospect of a new congregation in Tauza, Cavite!

Brethren, thank you so much for all your prayers, backings and concerns! You are a big part of what has transpired in the labors! We will inform you of the result of the one day health mission scheduled in Patakid this December 2nd, if the Lord wills, in our next communication. Thank you so much for all your goodness! God bless!
