Brooks Avenue supported Norberto Otero and Kyle Huhtanen in the Amacuapa Valley of Honduras. Every summer, until 2001, a group of youth and adults traveled from NC to carry the Gospel & love of God to the people. They tought Bible and hygene classes, poured concrete floors for homes (keeps the animals out), did repairs and met other needs. Other trips were made as needs and persons wishing to travel coincided.

2001 Update:

We supported Norberto Otero and 5 others as they preach, teach, and support this work. We have provided support for many mission trips in years past, which included some in the youth group. We have provided Predisan support in 2001.

Kyle Huhtanen moved to Honduras in early 2001 to work on building a medical clinic in Olancho for the mission work called Predisan. This medical mission is 14 years in development and serves all parts of Olancho with a family health clinic, a surgical suite, an alcohol rehabilitation facility, and a community development program that includes agricultural extension projects, community health centers, and aiding local education through correspondence courses. Predisan works in collaboration with local churches, the evangelists from Project Amacuapa, and The Honduran Bible School to share God's love. It is supported by several congregations and is under the guidance of the Northlake Congregation in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dan Blazier is on the advisory board for Predisan.
