Campus Ministry Weekly Email:

(Check this on Tuesdays to see what has been sent out.)

9/11/07

Hello everyone!

So I took the returned lunch information to our Lunchtime Exploratory Committee (a committee consisting only of myself), and the decision is as such:

On the advice of our fabulous mentor, David Earnest, we will NOT have a set lunch day. There are too many people unable to come on either a Monday-Wednesday OR a Tuesday-Thursday rotation. So, given this situation -

We're going to alternate. I'll send it out in an E-mail each week. Next week, we will be meeting for lunch on Monday, at 11:45, at Papa John's on Hillsborough Street. We'll probably be there for most of an hour, so don't feel like you have to show up right at the start. The following week we will meet on Tuesday, location and time TBA.

Thanks to all who sent me their information. Hope to see half of you next Monday!

-Michael B.

Hey campus ministers!!

-Just a note of what all's going on this week:

Tuesday (tomorrow) - Bible study on campus The theme is JESUS: Fan or Follower (a study of the meaning of Jesus in Mark) We introduced the study last week and It was absolutely awesome. This week, we'll be in our new location: Riddick 315. The space is big enough, so bring some friends as Dennis Conner leads our study of what truely matters... JESUS!! 7pm

Wednesday - 6:00 Free food and fellowship at Brooks: 7:00 Bible study led by the somewhat zany, non-barbaric-cleric-Derric Gant(College Room) Join us as we study God... us. 8:00 If you'd care to join us, we'll be going down to the men's homeless shelter to deliver food, and just to spend a little time with our bretheren down there.

Sunday - 9:30AM We'll continue our study of 1 Corinthians in the College Room (also led by Derric) prior to 'assembly worship' which will take place at 10:30.

-In Him

Reach Out. Reach In. Reach Up.

Other Announcements:

Hello everyone!

As you may or may not all know, the Common Bond groups at Brooks Avenue have been restructured recently. Common Bonds are small-ish groups (max ~30 people) within the church that meet once or twice a month for fellowship and devotional time. This may be something you're interested in being a part of.

College students who are interested in joining a Common Bond group are invited to join ANY group they want to. (Normally, the groups are assigned roughly geographically within Raleigh, but college students are treated differently because many of us know primarily folks in different areas because of age, etc.).

If you are interested in checking out a Common Bond group, David Ernest has forwarded me a list of the group leaders. Several of them are folks who've been involved with the college group and whom we know or at least have met. You are welcome to visit several groups if you want to, or visit just one, or not visit any at all - it's purely up to you how much or little you want to take advantage of this opportunity.

The list of group leaders is here. Feel free to contact any of them - a lot of them are folks we've met through college group events or through the Sunday morning class - to find out about when and where they meet, who's in a group, etc. Several of them are in our Sunday morning class.

If you have any questions or want more explanation of what Common Bond groups are, feel free to ask.
