OUTREACH MINISTER Position

Main purpose: Empowering the body to joyfully proclaim the Good News of Jesus saving grace to all, demonstrating by our lives, the love and compassion of Jesus Christ the author and perfecter of our faith. (from the Brooks vision statement)
The Brooks Avenue congregation seeks a minister with a passion for serving others and for reaching the lost. Specifically, the church desires a man to serve in an outreach role; share the pulpit with the Body Life Minister; equip members for evangelism and service by teaching and example, such as one-on-one Bible studies; teach Bible classes; counsel with members and others; and perform other duties as requested by the elders based upon the applicant's unique gifts and abilities so that Christ is presented to the Raleigh/Wake County community. Applicants must be experienced in teaching, equipping, preaching, and have a history of working cooperatively with others. Additionally, applicants must be comfortable working with a church technology team for effective communication in teaching and preaching. The Outreach Minister will be the second minister of a ministry team. The expectation is that other ministers will be added as the Lord leads. The Brooks Avenue church is an acappella congregation of 400+ members, representing a diverse racial and economic population. The church is currently shepherded by four men. Raleigh/Wake County is a university and research/high tech oriented community with a great potential for outreach to the lost. A competitive salary and good benefits will be offered. Interested persons should send a resume' and a CD or audiotape to David Mills, Chair, Search Committee, 700 Brooks Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27607-4132.
