Spring 2004 Classes

Sunday Morning Adult Classes

Singles
Larry Guess - Room 306

His father doted on him. His mother died while he was young. Both of his parents exhibited moments when they chose to act rather than wait on God's timing. His brothers despised him. We'll look at Joseph and his relatives, to see how we relate to them, to see what lessons we can learn from them, and to apply his example of faith in God in our lives today.

Young Marrieds (child 5 and below)
Jim Holt - Room 302/4

A study of the book of Ecclesiastes that will clearly point out that as young married couples if we focus on earthly goals, earthly dreams and earthly measures of success we will always be wanting.

Married With Young Children
Jerry Sprague - Fails Hall

A team-led discussion oriented class intended to inform parents of realistic situations/problems that arise while raising children and to provide a forum for discussion and idea sharing. The emphasis will be on the importance of a Christ-centered home life. Facilitators/leaders: Jerry Sprague, Dan & Linda Powell, Ken & Paige Wright.

Married With Teens
David Mills - Room 9/11

This family/marriage enrichment study will focus on the premise that the central purpose of Christian family life is to grow persons who are free to love God whole-heartedly and to love neighbor as self.

Mid-Lifers
Bill Stuart - Room 10/12

The Minor Prophets: Minor only in length -- not message -- God spoke through His prophets to help the people respond to many of the same issues and questions we face today: Want to know what offends God? Is discouragement and disillusionment hampering your service? Is it "sin" if it doesn't hurt someone else? How should we respond to difficult times in our lives? How God's love overcomes our prejudice? There are numerous prophecies about the coming Messiah and the End Times. God shows his anger, mercy, and love as we apply these messages to our lives today.

Grands
Edward Constantine - Room 100

Colossians: This class will continue our study of the book of Colossians.

Revelation
Lindsey Garmon - Auditorium

The New Testament book of Revelation is a document that fascinates and mystifies at the same time. Some say it can't be understood. Many are afraid of it. Too many have never studied it. A few have turned it into a theological playground. Join us in the auditorium class on Wednesday nights beginning in September as weprobe this important and interesting book. Lindsey will be leading the class. The approach will be designed for students who desire serious, in-depth Bible study. Our goal will be to dig deep into the colorful message of Revelation and to better understand the victory that we have in Christ! The entire study will require us to extend this class over two trimesters through April of 2004.
